The Blies Festival Identity Design was crafted by CTP – Conversation Taking Place, an independent design studio based in Berlin. This project delivered a flexible and modular identity system for the Blies Festival—a cultural event that combines performance, installation, and music—ensuring visual coherence across all formats.
The core of the Blies Festival Identity Design is a grid-based graphics system that adapts easily to different deliverables: posters, flyers, digital screens, and merchandise. Because the festival programming changes annually, this modular approach allows for new content while preserving a consistent brand language.
Color accents and typography were chosen to reflect the festival’s energetic tone, while layout parameters ensure legibility and impact. The system remains cohesive, yet leaves room for thematic flexibility each year.
Signage, stage graphics, and wayfinding elements all use the modular toolkit. Visual cues guide attendees easily through the venue, and color blocks highlight zones or performances—so navigation feels intuitive and enjoyable.
Illustrated maps and schedule layouts were designed to stand out, although they integrate seamlessly into the overall identity.
CTP also produced templates for social media, email newsletters, and announcement visuals that follow the same identity logic. This digital toolkit reflects the Blies Festival Identity Design by maintaining visual consistency across touchpoints.
Merchandise and printed materials—like tote bags and badges—carry modular visual patterns, so each item feels part of the same brand story.

Blies Festival was kicked off in 2021 based on it’s unique location around a small lake (Blies lake) in Ludwigshafen. As the identity, at this time, already touched upon these premises, we further developed an ‘in-depth’ experimental topological approach of this vast growing festival raving environment.
