Conversation Taking Place. Taking Place. Place.
Lawrie Abei
This digital concept is deeply rooted in the love for editorial finish of fashion productions. A bridge between the tactile nature of Abei’s creative process with the sort of romanticism within the material touch of images slowly fading away.

The Lawrie Abéi website design was developed by CTP (Conversation Taking Place), an independent design studio based in Berlin. This project explores how a visual identity can carry emotion, narrative, and artistic presence into the digital space.
CTP (Conversation Taking Place) is an independent design studio based in Berlin. We work at the intersection of editorial design, digital identity, and creative direction. A recent collaboration focused on the Lawrie Abéi website design, a project developed in close partnership with the artist to reflect her poetic and conceptual visual world.
Lawrie Abéi is a multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between photography, writing, and installation. Her practice is deeply narrative and intuitive. For this reason, the website needed to feel soft, personal, and open—like entering a diary made of light and layers.
We created a flexible structure based on storytelling. The homepage flows like a visual essay, inviting the viewer to explore without a fixed order. Navigation is present but discreet. It allows space for pauses, details, and emotional rhythm.
The Lawrie Abéi website design was shaped through shared conversations, moodboards, and typographic testing. We worked to translate her use of light, shadow, and texture into a digital atmosphere. Colors, spacing, and transitions were tuned to evoke slowness and reflection.
The result is not only a portfolio but also a sensitive environment for her work. From visual identity to structure, everything was designed to honor her tone.
At CTP, we approach websites as spaces that hold creative practices. We focus on digital identity that is aligned with the voice and tempo of each artist. Our aim is not just functionality, but resonance.
For artists seeking a digital identity for visual artists, we offer a careful, custom-made process grounded in dialogue and aesthetics. As an independent design studio in Berlin, we support practices that are intimate, complex, and slow-burning.
