Phillip Koll, Book Design & Concept
Modelled and inspired after, so-called ‘flip books’, known from conventional photo or drug stores, a format for collecting private images, repurposed here as a document of Koll’s creative process. Everyday objects, precisely arranged and photographed as still lifes, collected and bound in linen.
The design extends the visual identity developed for Koll, continuing a systematic and document-led approach to his practice.

The phillip koll website design was developed by CTP – Conversation Taking Place, an independent graphic design studio based in Berlin. The website serves as a digital portfolio for architect Phillip Koll, reflecting his conceptual clarity and spatial thinking.
Phillip Koll’s work spans architecture, installation, and editorial projects. He approaches form as structure and narrative, often playing with precision and silence. The phillip koll website design needed to echo these principles—creating a space that holds presence without distraction.
The website is built on a modular grid system, allowing the work to be displayed with rhythm and intention. Typography is neutral and clear, supporting the images without competing with them. Navigation is intuitive and direct, offering a seamless entry into each project.
The digital identity was developed through a dialogue between form and function. Every element—from hover states to image sequencing—was shaped to reflect Phillip’s material sensibility. Projects unfold with clarity, encouraging the viewer to engage slowly.
Spacing, transitions, and typography were tested carefully to maintain a balance between lightness and weight. The result is a digital environment that feels architectural, editorial, and calm.
At CTP, we design websites that support the voice of the artist or architect. If you’re seeking a digital identity that reflects your work without flattening it, our process is collaborative and research-led.
We work with designers, curators, and cultural institutions to build portfolios that hold narrative and presence. Whether it’s a soft launch or a public platform, we build systems that grow with the practice.
As an independent design studio in Berlin, we work at the intersection of editorial logic, architecture, and visual communication.
